Khirapat Maharashtrian Sweet Dish

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • Chopped dry fruits: 6 almonds, 7-8 pistachios, 7-8 cashews, and 7-8 raisins
  • 6-7 dry dates, seeds removed
  • 1.5 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1/2 cup grated dry coconut, skin removed
  • Powder from 3 cardamom pods
  • Some rock candies
  • 1.5 tablespoons finely chopped or powdered jaggery

Preparation

  1. Heat up a pan.

  2. Add 2 tablespoons of ghee.

  3. Fry the chopped dry fruits and transfer them to a plate.

  4. Fry the dry dates after removing their seeds.

  5. Grind the fried dry dates in a mixer to make a powder.

  6. Roast 1.5 tablespoons of poppy seeds in the same pan.

  7. Add 1/2 cup of grated dry coconut.

  8. Roast until golden-brown.

  9. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.

  10. Add the date powder and mix with your hand.

  11. Add the cardamom powder.

  12. Add some rock candies.

  13. Add 1.5 tablespoons of jaggery.

  14. Mix everything well.

  15. Add the fried dry fruits and mix again.

  16. The Khirapat is ready.
