Makhana and Dry Fruit Kheer
Ingredients
- 100 grams makhana
- 2 teaspoons ghee
- Almonds
- Cashews
- A few makhana
- 1 liter full fat milk
- 5-6 cardamom powder
- Saffron (optional)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Dry fruits (optional)
Preparation
Roast 100 grams makhana in 2 teaspoons ghee and set aside.
Grind some almonds, cashews, and a few makhana to make a powder.
In a pan, bring 1 liter full fat milk to a boil.
Add 5-6 cardamom powder and saffron if using.
Once the milk reduces, add 1/4 cup sugar and the nut powder.
Stir continuously.
When the milk reaches the desired consistency, add the roasted makhana and some dry fruits.
Cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Serve hot or cold.
Tips
This kheer can be enjoyed both hot and cold and is suitable for fasting periods like Navratri.
