Caramelized Makhana with Jaggery and Spices
Ingredients
- 2 cup makhana
- 2 tbs peanuts
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 2 tbs chopped jaggery
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tsp white sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
Preparation
Heat up the pan and add 2 cups of makhana.
Add 2 tablespoons of peanuts and roast well on medium flame for 7-10 minutes.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of ghee to the same pan.
Add 2 tablespoons of chopped jaggery.
Add salt as per taste.
Add 1 teaspoon of white sesame seeds.
Add 1 teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder for color and spicy taste.
Add the roasted makhana and peanuts back into the pan.
Mix well and cook for 5 minutes on slow flame, then turn off the stove and let it rest for a while.
Once it cools down, separate the makhana from each other if needed.
