Oven-Baked Ground Beef Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 12 sandwich buns
- 200 grams ground beef
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice blend
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3-4 tablespoons melted butter
Preparation
In a medium-sized pot, place the meat and butter, then put it on medium heat and stir with a wooden spoon until the meat browns and its water evaporates
Add the onion and stir until soft, then add the garlic, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, mixed spices, salt, and black pepper, stir with the meat until softened, and let the meat cool
Set the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 350°F
Prepare shallow-rimmed baking sheets
Distribute the meat mixture into the sandwich buns, add the cheddar and mozzarella cheese, close the sandwiches, and press lightly to secure the filling
Brush the sandwiches with melted butter using a wide brush
Wrap each sandwich in aluminum foil and place them on the baking sheet
Bake in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes until toasted, then serve immediately
