Easy Strawberry Custard Dessert with Fresh Berries
Ingredients
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 measures (using the sweetened condensed milk can) milk
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch, leveled
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 egg whites, beaten to stiff peaks
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 can (12 oz) heavy cream
- 500g strawberries, diced
Preparation
In a saucepan, mix the sweetened condensed milk, milk, cornstarch, and egg yolk
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened
Remove the custard from heat and pour into a serving dish
In a bowl, mix the stiffly beaten egg whites, sugar, heavy cream, and diced strawberries, reserving some for decoration
Spread this mixture over the custard and decorate with reserved strawberries
Refrigerate until ready to serve
