Baked Kofta in Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • 300 grams kofta
  • 2 cups yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C and prepare a medium-sized baking tray.

  2. Shape the kofta into small balls the size of a walnut, place them in the tray, and bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes until the moisture evaporates and they brown, stirring occasionally.

  3. In a thick-bottomed pot, place the yogurt, water, egg, and salt, and whisk with a whisk or fork until the egg is incorporated and the mixture is smooth.

  4. Place the pot on medium heat and stir continuously with a wooden spoon until the mixture boils and thickens.

  5. Add the baked kofta balls and let simmer on low heat for 5 to 6 minutes.

  6. Add the garlic and mint, let it boil for one minute, then transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with rice.
