Savory Whole Wheat Cumin Cookies

Ingredients

  • 60 grams ghee
  • 2 small ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 100 grams whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 tablespoons roasted cumin seeds

Preparation

  1. Take a mixing bowl.

  2. Add 60 grams of ghee.

  3. Add 2 small ice cubes and whisk well.

  4. Continue whisking until the mixture reaches a creamy consistency.

  5. Add 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and beat well.

  6. Add salt to taste.

  7. Add 100 grams of whole wheat flour.

  8. Add 1.5 tablespoons of roasted cumin seeds.

  9. Gently mix with a spatula without kneading by hand to avoid melting the ghee.

  10. Flatten the dough using a rolling pin and adjust the thickness with hands.

  11. Cut the dough into cookies using a cookie or round cutter.

  12. Place the cookies on baking trays lined with parchment paper.

Baking methods

  1. For oven baking, preheat the oven to 170°C for 10 minutes and bake for 12-15 minutes.

  2. For stove-top baking, set up a steamer with a stand, preheat it, place the tray inside, cover the lid with a cloth, and bake on low flame for 20-25 minutes.

  3. Allow the cookies to cool completely.

  4. Serve the cookies with hot coffee or tea.
