Baked or Fried Falafels
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas, drained
- 1/4 cup parsley, loosely chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, loosely chopped
- 2 tbsp mint, loosely chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 3 tbsp chickpea flour (or flour of choice)
- 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp crushed chili flakes
- 1 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of salt & pepper
Preparation
Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until you get a wet dough
Shape into little balls
For baking: lightly press the balls down to form patties, place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees f for 20-25 mins (flip at the 15 min mark)
For frying: keep them in a ball form and fry in oil on medium-high for 3 mins until golden brown
