Turnip and Peas Curry

Ingredients

  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Ginger paste
  • Tomatoes
  • Turmeric
  • Turnip
  • Peas
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds once it heats up. Once they splutter, add ginger paste and cook for a few seconds until the raw smell is gone.

  2. Add tomatoes and turmeric. Cook on low to medium heat until the tomatoes are mushy and oil begins to separate at the edges.

  3. Add turnip, peas, and salt, then mix well.

  4. Add 1/4 cup of water or just enough to cover the vegetables, cover, and cook on medium heat for 7-8 minutes until vegetables are cooked.

  5. Serve hot with fulkas or steamed rice.
