Simple and Quick Cucumber Dal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor dal
- cucumber
- tomatoes
- green chillies
- oil
- cumin seeds
- mustard seeds
- turmeric powder
- salt
- water
- garlic
- coriander seeds
Preparation
Boil 1 cup of Toor dal and set aside.
If you don't like the cucumber skin, peel it off. Chop cucumber, tomatoes, and green chillies and set aside.
Heat a kadai, add oil, splutter cumin and mustard seeds, add cucumber pieces and cook for 5 minutes, then add turmeric powder, tomatoes, and salt, and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
Add the cooked dal along with some water to adjust the consistency.
Pound garlic, cumin, and coriander seeds and add to the boiling dal.
Boil for 5 minutes or so and then it's ready to serve.
Eating cucumber with skin provides maximum benefits along with other nutrients.
