Spiced Oven-Baked Kale Crisps
Ingredients
- 1 bag organic kale (roughly 180g)
- Almost 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup gram flour
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon rock salt
Preparation
Preheat oven to 160°C
Line an oven tray with foil to keep it clean and easy to wash
Wash the kale and drain it
Place kale on the tray and add the oil
Massage the kale for a few seconds to ensure the oil covers all surfaces
In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup gram flour with 1 teaspoon each of turmeric powder, chilli powder, and ground black pepper
Mix this well into the kale, cleaning any residue off the tray
Sprinkle rock salt to taste
Spread the kale out in a single layer
Place in the oven for 10 minutes
Stir and bake for another 5 minutes
Remove from the oven, let the oven cool to warm, then place the tray back in with the oven off to achieve perfect crunch
Tips
If the crisps lose crunch the next day, reheat them in the oven for 3-4 minutes
