Savory Vegetable Rose Tart
Ingredients
- 1 packet puff pastry
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 yellow squash
- 2 zucchini
- 3 carrots
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and prepare a 10-inch round baking dish.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit the dish size and place it in the dish to cover the bottom and sides.
Using a knife, trim excess dough.
In a bowl, mix feta cheese, cream cheese, egg, black pepper, green onions, and parsley, then spread the mixture over the tart base.
Using a vegetable peeler, slice the zucchini and carrots into thin ribbons.
Take a slice and roll it into a rose shape, then place it on the tart over the filling.
Repeat with more slices, arranging them side by side with harmonious colors.
Using a brush, coat the vegetable roses with olive oil.
Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown, then serve.
Tips
You can use square, rectangular, or tart pans with removable bottom.
Dough scraps can be reused by cutting them into small pieces and placing them on the tart as they will be covered later.
You can incorporate other filling ideas as desired.
