Vegan Bbq Cauliflower Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Slice the cauliflower head into thick steaks about 1-inch wide.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, tamari or soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.

  3. Brush the marinade evenly over both sides of the cauliflower steaks.

  4. Preheat a grill or barbecue to medium-high heat and cook the steaks for 5-7 minutes per side until tender and charred, or bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes until done.
