Homemade Rose Falooda with Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- Additional milk
- 2 cups water
- A bowl of chilled water and ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 5-6 tablespoons corn flour
- 1/2 teaspoon custard powder
- 1.5 teaspoons condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon basil seeds
- Rose syrup to taste
- Ice cream
- Chopped dry fruits
- A cherry
Preparation
Heat up a pan and add 1 cup milk
In another flat pan, add 1.5 cups water
Add 1 teaspoon sugar if desired
Add approximately 5-6 tablespoons corn flour, mix well, and cook on medium heat
Stir continuously to prevent sticking until the mixture becomes transparent and thick like jelly
Dilute some milk with 1/2 teaspoon custard powder and add it to the milk pan
Continue stirring both mixtures
Add 1.5 teaspoons condensed milk to the milk pan
Turn off the heat when the milk mixture thickens slightly
Allow the mixture to cool and refrigerate it
Soak 1 tablespoon basil seeds in 1/2 cup water for 5 minutes
Prepare a bowl filled with chilled water and ice cubes
Use a piping bag with a star nozzle to extrude the corn flour mixture into the chilled water
In a tall glass, spread rose syrup along the walls
Add the extruded sev to the glass
Add the soaked basil seeds
Add more rose syrup to taste
Add ice cream
Pour the milk mixture into the glass
Top with additional sev, basil seeds, rose syrup, chopped dry fruits, and a cherry
Enjoy the chilled falooda
Notes
Ice cream and condensed milk can be purchased or made separately using external recipes
Adjust rose syrup and other flavors based on personal preference for best results
