Iced Black Sesame Latte
Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- Approximately 1/2 cup cold foamed milk
- Splash of black sesame simple syrup
- Ice
Black sesame simple syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar (white or cane sugar works best)
- 4 tablespoons black sesame powder (unsweetened)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Preparation
Brew 2 shots of espresso.
Foam approximately 1/2 cup of cold milk.
Fill a glass with ice.
Pour the espresso over the ice.
Add the foamed milk.
Stir in a splash of black sesame simple syrup to taste.
Serve immediately.
Black sesame simple syrup
Combine water, sugar, and black sesame powder in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, without letting it boil hard to allow the sesame flavor to infuse.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
Let sit for 30 minutes to deepen the flavor.
Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve.
Cool completely and store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
