Italian-Style Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 liter of milk
- 150 grams of sugar
- 100 grams of unsweetened cocoa
- 50 grams of cornstarch
- 1 vanilla pod
- whipped cream
Preparation
Heat the milk with the vanilla pod, bringing it almost to a boil.
Lower the heat and turn off, letting the vanilla infuse for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, mix the cocoa, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl.
Remove the vanilla pod from the milk and pour the hot milk over the powder mixture, stirring well to avoid lumps.
Return the mixture to the heat and boil for two minutes while stirring continuously.
Once thickened, turn off the heat and pour into cups. Add a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
