Homemade Vegan Naan Bread with Garlic

Ingredients

  • 260g thick coconut yogurt (or any thick vegan yogurt)
  • 250g self raising flour (gluten free or regular)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)

Toppings

  • garlic infused oil
  • fresh coriander
  • salt

Preparation

  1. Add all your ingredients into a bowl and mix together using a spatula, then use hands to form a big ball.

  2. Knead the dough briefly until smooth and combined, adding a little flour if sticky.

  3. Cut the dough into 3 pieces.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each piece with a rolling pin to just over 0.5cm thick in a naan shape.

  5. Heat up a frying pan without oil.

  6. Place the rolled dough in the pan and cook on one side for a few minutes until puffing and golden brown occurs.

  7. Flip the naan and cook for slightly less time on the other side.

  8. Brush with garlic oil, add chopped fresh coriander, and sprinkle a little salt.

  9. Repeat the process for additional naans.
