Easy Vegan Jackfruit Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 large can of jackfruit
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp liquid aminos, tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tsp taco seasoning
- 8-10 corn tortillas
- 1 small purple onion
- cilantro
- salsa of choice
- lime wedges
Preparation
Cook option
Open the can of jackfruit, drain and rinse it. Shred the jackfruit and dry it with paper towels.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat, add canola oil and garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds.
Add the jackfruit to the pan with taco seasoning and liquid aminos or tamari. Sauté for 10-15 minutes until golden brown, adding more oil if necessary.
Warm the tortillas on a skillet, dice the onions, and assemble the tacos.
No cook option
Open the can of jackfruit, drain and rinse it. Shred the jackfruit and dry it with paper towels.
Add liquid aminos, tamari, or soy sauce into a bowl along with diced onion, the juice of 1 large lime, taco seasoning, and jackfruit. Mix well to marinate the jackfruit.
Marinate the jackfruit for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results. Warm it up in the microwave for at least 1 minute before serving.
Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 15 seconds on each side and add the jackfruit, cilantro, and salsa.
