Potato and Onion Fritters

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • chopped onion
  • chopped potato
  • chopped green chilli
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • approximately 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon water

Preparation

  1. Mix 1/2 cup gram flour, chopped onion or potato, chopped green chilli, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

  2. Add water in small quantities to make a very thick batter similar to idli batter.

  3. Heat oil in a small frying pan on medium flame.

  4. Take a spoonful of batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil, frying 5-6 pakoras at a time until medium brown and crispy.

  5. Drain and transfer to a plate lined with kitchen paper, then set aside. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.

Notes

  1. This is a perfect evening snack for when craving something crunchy and spicy.
