Potato and Onion Fritters
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup gram flour
- chopped onion
- chopped potato
- chopped green chilli
- baking soda
- salt
- approximately 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
Preparation
Mix 1/2 cup gram flour, chopped onion or potato, chopped green chilli, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Add water in small quantities to make a very thick batter similar to idli batter.
Heat oil in a small frying pan on medium flame.
Take a spoonful of batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil, frying 5-6 pakoras at a time until medium brown and crispy.
Drain and transfer to a plate lined with kitchen paper, then set aside. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.

This is a perfect evening snack for when craving something crunchy and spicy.
