Traditional Steamed Pandan Kuih

Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup tapioca flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar (reduced from 1 cup for less sweetness)
  • 1 cup pandan water
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt
  • A pinch of edible lime (about 1 teaspoon)

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients together and stir until well combined.

  2. Grease the pan with oil to prevent the kuih from sticking.

  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.

  4. Boil water in a steamer until it boils.

  5. Steam the mixture for about 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

Tips

  1. Optionally, add green food coloring to the pandan water for a brighter color.
