Malaysian Steamed Layered Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 cups coconut milk
  • a pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a blender and divide into two parts

  2. Add red food coloring to one part and leave the other white, then add a small amount of salt to both for better texture

  3. Prepare a steamer and grease a pan or mold

  4. Using a spoon of the same size, pour a layer of mixture into the pan and steam for 10 minutes

  5. Repeat the process layer by layer, alternating colors, until all mixture is used
