Overnight Baked Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

French toast

  • Butter, for greasing pan
  • 8 ounces Kings Hawaiian Bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Topping

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with butter.

  2. Fill baking dish with torn bread pieces. Whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Pour the mixture over the bread.

  3. Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the bread mixture.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm.

Notes

  1. To prepare the night before, cover with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake in the preheated oven the next morning, adding 5-10 minutes to the cooking time if chilled.

  2. This recipe can be doubled and baked in a 13x9 inch baking dish.
