Homemade Maple Pecan Pie

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold), cut into cubes
  • 5 tablespoons ice-cold water

Filling

  • 1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Preparation

  1. Prepare the crust dough by mixing the flour, sugar, and salt, then cutting in the cold butter until crumbly, and adding ice water to form a dough. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a pie pan.

  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  4. For the filling, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, egg, apple cider vinegar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

  5. If using pecans, stir in the chopped pecans.

  6. Pour the filling into the prepared crust.

  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

  8. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.
