Air Fryer and Baked French Toast Sticks
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread, cut into sticks (1 slice yields about 4-5 sticks)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon sugar topping
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Whisk together the egg, almond milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.
Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, ensuring it's coated, and then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over it. Repeat for all sticks.
Air Fryer Method
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Optionally, grease the air fryer basket to prevent sticking.
Place the coated sticks in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 8 minutes, flipping the sticks halfway through.
Oven Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Arrange the coated sticks on the parchment-lined pan.
Bake for 20 minutes, flipping the sticks halfway through to ensure even browning.
Once done, the French toast sticks should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.
