"Chicken and Waffles"

Ingredients

  • For batter
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tsp of pink himalayan salt
  • 1/ 2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp of cumin
  • For breading
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp of pink himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp of paprika
  • 1/4 tsp of coriander
  • 1/4 tsp of oregano
  • 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • For the waffles
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp of pink himalayan salt
  • 2 flax eggs
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • 2 tbs of maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°, decore cauliflower head and pull apart to form pieces

  2. Place pieces of cauliflower onto a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes

  3. Once time is up remove cauliflower from oven. Combine all batter ingredients in a medium sized bowl and combine all breading ingredients in another medium sized bowl

  4. Pour olive oil into a medium sized pot to about 1 to 2 inch depth, heat to 350°

  5. Dip cauliflower pieces into batter and roll until covered then place into breading and roll until covered

  6. Place into oil and fry for two minutes each side or until golden brown. Remove and place on drying rack

  7. Repeat process until finished, then double batter and double fry pieces for extra crispyness

  8. Directions

  9. In a large bowl combine wet to dry ingredients. Stir well

  10. Pour batter into heated waffle iron and cook until ready. Remove waffle and repeat process until finished
