Healthy Brown Rice Dosa

Ingredients

  • 3 cups brown rice
  • 1.5 cups urad dal
  • Few fenugreek seeds
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Soak 3 cups of brown rice overnight.

  2. Soak 1.5 cups of urad dal for a couple of hours with a few fenugreek seeds.

  3. Grind the rice and urad dal and mix both.

  4. Leave the mixture out for fermentation for a few hours.

  5. Once the batter ferments, pour some into a bowl, add salt, and mix well.

  6. Heat a pan and make a crepe from the batter.

  7. Serve hot with sides.

Notes

  1. Brown rice is a whole grain that helps lower cholesterol, promotes fullness, and may prevent blood clot formation. It has a low glycemic index.

  2. Fermented foods like this are nutritious and easier to digest due to beneficial microorganisms that add enzymes, B vitamins, and protein.
