Homemade Naturally Dyed Vegan Gyoza

Ingredients

Homemade gyoza wrapper

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp salt

Filling

  • 2 cups mushrooms, diced very small
  • 1 cup carrot, diced very small
  • 1 cup cabbage, diced very small
  • 1 small onion or half a large onion, diced very small
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/2 tsp salt (if needed)
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, salt, and hot water to form a dough, incorporating spirulina and turmeric for natural coloring

  2. Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest for about 30 minutes

  3. Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly

  4. Roll out the dough into thin circles approximately 3 inches in diameter

  5. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough circle, fold and seal the edges to create gyoza shapes

  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, add gyoza, and cook until the bottoms are golden brown; add a little water, cover, and steam for a few minutes until fully cooked
