Homemade Naturally Dyed Vegan Gyoza
Ingredients
Homemade gyoza wrapper
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 1 tsp salt
Filling
- 2 cups mushrooms, diced very small
- 1 cup carrot, diced very small
- 1 cup cabbage, diced very small
- 1 small onion or half a large onion, diced very small
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1-2 tbsp coconut aminos
- 1/2 tsp salt (if needed)
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Preparation
Mix flour, salt, and hot water to form a dough, incorporating spirulina and turmeric for natural coloring
Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest for about 30 minutes
Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly
Roll out the dough into thin circles approximately 3 inches in diameter
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough circle, fold and seal the edges to create gyoza shapes
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, add gyoza, and cook until the bottoms are golden brown; add a little water, cover, and steam for a few minutes until fully cooked
