Homemade Plant-Based Burger Buns
Ingredients
- 300g flour
- 1/2 yeast cube
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 150g plant-based milk
- 45g margarine
Topping
- 1 tbsp plant-based cream
- 4 tsp sesame seeds
Preparation
In a bowl, mix all the dry bun ingredients together.
In another bowl, mix the yeast with the plant-based milk.
Add the yeast-milk mixture and the margarine on top of the flour mixture. Knead well to form a dough.
Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for one hour.
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a smooth ball.
Place the balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Gently press down on the balls with your hands.
Cover the tray with a towel and let the buns rise for another 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with two-sided heat.
Place a bakeproof dish with water at the bottom of the oven.
Spread a bit of plant-based cream on top of each bun.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the buns.
Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
