Immunity-Boosting Spiced Kahda Tea
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 medium cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 5-6 peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carrom seeds)
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- a small piece of grated ginger
- a small piece of jaggery or 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon tea leaves (optional)
- 2 cardamom pods
- juice of 1/2 lime
- a few Tulsi leaves (optional)
Preparation
Boil 2 cups of water
Add 2 medium cinnamon sticks, 4 cloves, 5-6 peppercorns, 1/2 teaspoon ajwain, 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, a small piece of grated ginger, a small piece of jaggery or 1 tablespoon honey, 1/2 teaspoon tea leaves if using, and 2 cardamom pods, then boil until the liquid reduces by one-fourth
Turn off the heat and squeeze in the juice of half a lime
Serve hot with a few Tulsi leaves for extra goodness
