Paleo and Vegan Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 4 apples of choice (e.g., 2 Honeycrisp and 2 Granny Smith)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Topping

  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Slice the apples.

  2. Heat a small, oven-safe skillet for a few minutes, then add the coconut oil, apples, and other apple ingredients. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, coating the apples.

  3. In a bowl, mix together the topping.

  4. Add the topping to the apples, breaking it up into pieces to make it crumbly. Avoid making the pieces too thick.

  5. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.

  6. Remove from the oven and serve.
