Delicious Bbq Black Beans Burger with Beetroot
Ingredients
Patties
- 1 can (400ml) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 small white onion, peeled & chopped
- 2 tablespoon chopped walnuts
- 3 heaped tablespoons old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon oil for cooking
For the burger
- Burger buns
- Bbq sauce
- Sweet mustard
- pickled beetroot
- pickled jalapeños
- salad
- sliced Tomatoes & red onions
Preparation
Add the garlic & onion to the food processor and pulse until finely minced.
Add the oats, walnuts, chili powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, water, and maple syrup. Process until you have a fine texture.
Add black beans to the food processor. Pulse until mostly smooth with some texture.
Scrape the mixture into a bowl, set the mixture aside for 5 minutes.
Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the patties on both sides for 4-5 minutes on each side.
Halve the buns and grill them on the inside for 2 minutes.
Brush the bottom of the bun with mustard and put a leaf of lettuce on it.
Next, top it off with a pattie, tomato slices, onion peperonis & pickled beetroot.
Spread the inside of the upper bun with bbq sauce and cover your burger.
