Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 small onions, diced
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, grated or crushed
  • 1kg mince meat
  • 1.5 tsp coriander powder
  • 1.5 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 1.5 cans of chopped tomatoes (or use 1 can plus some fresh tomatoes)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • Small bowlful of frozen vegetables (optional)
  • Salt to taste (approximately 1.5 tsp)

Preparation

  1. Saute diced onion and garlic in oil for a few minutes before browning off the mince. Allow the mince to fully brown before adding in spices.

  2. Add in the dry spices along with the stock cube, canned tomatoes, tomato puree, sauces, and salt. Throw in the diced pepper and frozen vegetables too (you can always replace this with mushrooms if you prefer).

  3. Simmer over a medium flame for 20 minutes until the tomato sauce has reduced and thickened. Serve with pasta or crusty bread. Enjoy.
