Rice with Ginger and Green Onions
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 2 teaspoons crushed ginger
- 1 green onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 tablespoons corn oil
Preparation
Wash the rice several times then soak it for 30 minutes.
In a deep pot, place 5 cups of water and put the pot on medium heat until the water boils vigorously.
Add the onion, ginger, and salt, then drain the rice and add it to the water and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Drain the rice with the onion and ginger and return it to the pot.
Add the oil to the rice, stir to coat it completely with oil, cover the pot and let the rice cook on very low heat for 10 minutes until it steams.
Tips
Serve with broth or stew.
