Homemade Raw Date Paste for Natural Sweetening

Ingredients

  • 40 organic Medjool dates
  • 2 tablespoons water

Optional additions

  • Vanilla bean
  • Fresh lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Soak 40 organic Medjool dates in warm water until tender and soft.

  2. Remove the dates from the soaking water.

  3. Remove the seeds by hand, ensuring all are removed.

  4. Combine the dates and 2 tablespoons of water in a food processor.

  5. Puree until a thick, whipped, and creamy texture is achieved. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.

  6. Place the date paste in an airtight container and store in the fridge or freezer.

Optional tips

  1. Add vanilla bean to the date paste before processing.

  2. Use fresh lemon juice in place of water for a tangy sweetener.
