Stovetop Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free oats can be used)
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 apples
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Heat up the milk and oats together until they start bubbling.
Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the mixture.
Stir everything together and let it cook for 8-10 minutes until it thickens.
For the sautéed apples, dice your apples.
Heat a skillet over low-medium heat and add the coconut oil.
Add the diced apples and cinnamon to the skillet.
Sauté the apples until they're soft, about 5-6 minutes.
Serve the oatmeal topped with the sautéed apples.
Optional: Add a dollop of organic peanut butter on top.
