Crispy Baked Tofu Fries with Sauce

Ingredients

Tofu fries

  • 400g firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Sauce

  • 5 cloves garlic
  • a thumbsize piece of ginger
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons agave or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • water as needed

Preparation

  1. Pat dry the tofu and cut it into fries shape or tear into chunks, then combine with cornstarch, oil, and salt.

  2. Bake at 190°C (380°F) for 15-20 minutes.

  3. For the sauce, fry the garlic and ginger in some oil.

  4. Add soy sauce, lime juice, agave or maple syrup, ketchup, and water as needed to the pan.

  5. Stir while heating until the sauce thickens.

  6. Stir the baked tofu into the sauce and heat through.
