Homemade Gherkin Pickles in Vinegar

Ingredients

  • Enough gherkin cucumbers to fill a 1 kg jar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon citric acid
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 4-5 chickpeas
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • Enough boiling water to cover

Preparation

  1. Poke 2-3 holes in each gherkin cucumber with a knife

  2. Add the salt, citric acid, sugar, garlic, chickpeas, and vinegar to a clean 1 kg jar

  3. Pack the jar with the prepared cucumbers

  4. Pour enough boiling water to cover the cucumbers

  5. Seal the jar tightly after adding all ingredients
