Our Orange Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • for the batter
  • 2/3 cup of almond meal
  • 2/3 cup of filtered water
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp pink himalyansalt
  • 1/4 tsp of paprika
  • for the sauce
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable stock
  • 1/2 cup of rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/8 cup of orange juice(we used @lovesuja)
  • 1/8 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup of coconut sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/8 cup of filtered water
  • 1/8 cup of tapioca startch

Preparation

  1. Decore cauliflower head and gently pull apart to form pieces

  2. In a small bowl combine all ingredients for batter

  3. Stir well until batter has formed

  4. Preheat oven to 450°

  5. Dip cauliflower pieces into batter and coat well

  6. Place onto a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes

  7. Remove cauliflower from oven once times up

  8. Roll pieces in remaining batter and bake for another 10 minutes flipping halfway through

  9. Combine all ingredients for sauce(excluding tapioca startch and water) into a small pot on medium heat

  10. Stir well until sugar is dissolved

  11. Combine water with startch into a small bowl then add to sauce

  12. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer until sauce is thickened

  13. Remove cauliflower from oven

  14. In a medium sized pan and bell pepper and mushrooms

  15. Stir well and add cauliflower along with sauce

  16. Allow to simmer for a few minutes

  17. Remove from heat and top with fresh chopped green onion

  18. Serve and enjoy
