Reamy Cardamom Oats with Maple Caramelised Pear
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (gf option)
- 1 tbsp sultanas
- 1/2 tbsp flax meal
- pinch of cardamom
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (any plant milk will work)
- 1/4 cup water
- buttery maple caramelised pear
- 1 pear, sliced lengthways
- knob of vegan butter
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Preparation
Melt vegan butter in a fry pan over low heat. Add pear slices & cook 2-3 minutes each side or until tender
While pear is cooking prepare the oats. Add all oat ingredients to a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes or until oats are soft & creamy, stirring regularly. Set aside
Drizzle maple syrup over the pear slices, increase heat to med-high and cook a minute or so on each side until caramelised
Add oats to a bowl and top with the pear slices (and ALL the buttery caramel from the fry pan) and a dollop of nut butter. I used peanut butter
