Reamy Cardamom Oats with Maple Caramelised Pear

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (gf option)
  • 1 tbsp sultanas
  • 1/2 tbsp flax meal
  • pinch of cardamom
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (any plant milk will work)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • buttery maple caramelised pear
  • 1 pear, sliced lengthways
  • knob of vegan butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Melt vegan butter in a fry pan over low heat. Add pear slices & cook 2-3 minutes each side or until tender

  2. While pear is cooking prepare the oats. Add all oat ingredients to a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes or until oats are soft & creamy, stirring regularly. Set aside

  3. Drizzle maple syrup over the pear slices, increase heat to med-high and cook a minute or so on each side until caramelised

  4. Add oats to a bowl and top with the pear slices (and ALL the buttery caramel from the fry pan) and a dollop of nut butter. I used peanut butter
