Sesame Brown Rice Burger with Plant-Based Patty
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sticky rice, steamed
- 4 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 pack plant-based patties
- 120 ml boiling water
- Green leaf lettuce
For the Sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup dairy-free mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 teaspoon buffalo sauce
Preparation
Shape Rice Buns
Place about 3 tablespoons of the steamed rice into a small serving bowl.
Press down with a tablespoon to shape a bun.
Coat the bun with sesame seeds.
Fry in a lightly oiled pan over low heat for a couple of minutes on each side.
Repeat until you have 4 rice buns.
Prepare Plant-Based Patties
Mix the packet of plant-based mince with 120 ml of boiling water.
Leave for 5 minutes to rest.
Form 2 burgers with your hands.
Fry the patties on both sides until crispy brown.
Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients together.
Assemble the Burgers
Add lettuce on the bottom of two rice buns.
Place the burger pattie on top of the lettuce.
Spread sauce over the pattie.
Top each burger with the remaining rice buns.
