Vegan Flower Art Kaju Katli

Ingredients

  • Almonds powder - 2 cups
  • Sugar (Raw sugar) - 1 cup
  • Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  • Coconut milk powder - 4 tbsp
  • Almond essence - 1 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup

Preparation

  1. In a pan, add water and then add sugar. Mix well and dissolve sugar until 1 string consistency is attained.

  2. Once you achieve this consistency, transfer it to a nonstick pan, then add almond powder, coconut milk powder, almond extract, coconut oil, and give a quick mix.

  3. Cook on low-medium heat until the mixture turns into a smooth batter consistency and no lumps are visible. Be careful not to overcook.

  4. Switch off the heat once the mixture reaches a firm yet pliable consistency.

  5. Transfer the mixture onto butter paper, use a spatula to shape it into a firm dough.

  6. Place another butter paper on top and use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a thin, flat shape.

  7. Decorate with edible flowers and nuts of your choice, and cut into desired shapes.

  8. Store in an airtight container and enjoy. It stays fresh for a month in the fridge.
