Vegan Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • Cream
  • - Coconut cream (1 tablespoon)
  • -Brown sugar/jaggery (1 tablespoon)
  • ( You can tweak the quantity according to taste)
  • If you want to avoid the cream, directly add sugar to your milk. The cream is just for a creamy texture & consistency
  • Hot chocolate
  • - 1medium-sized mug of plant milk (I used almond milk)
  • - 15-20g dark chocolate (2-3 thick cubes)
  • - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • -1/2 tsp cocoa powder
  • Serving Size- 1

Preparation

  1. Refrigerate a tin of coconut milk overnight

  2. Make sure not to mix the tin up as we want to use the hard cream at the top of the tin

  3. Remove the creamy top from the tin of coconut milk and leave behind the water

  4. Add the cream to a bowl and whisk until creamy (around 30 seconds)

  5. It's preferable to use ground, icing sugar for this recipe. Add this to the cream

  6. Whisk together these ingredients until combined and creamy

  7. Pour the plant milk into a pan over low to medium heat

  8. Break the chocolate in the pan and the add the cinnamon and cocoa

  9. Continue to stir and don't let the mixture boil or the milk will curdle

  10. When the milk is hot, pour into your mug

  11. Spoon in the coconut cream

  12. Grate over some chocolate, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and cherish
