Crispy Cauliflower Bites with Sweet Chilli Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of water
  • 1 whole cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sweet smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of spring onion for garnishing
  • Sunflower oil for frying

Sweet chilli sauce

  • 6 teaspoons of maple syrup
  • 6 teaspoons of tamari sauce
  • 6 teaspoons of balsamic glaze

Preparation

  1. Pre boil the cauliflower for 5 minutes in a pot with boiling salted water. Drain and set aside to cool.

  2. In a bowl add the flour, paprika, salt, pepper, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, water and combine.

  3. Place the cauliflower florets in the prepared batter and coat well and fry. Do not overcrowd the pot as it will make the batter soggy.

  4. Place the cauliflower on parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes at 180.

  5. When ready to serve the cauliflower bites, place them in a bowl and add the sweet chilli sauce and coat well.

Sweet chilli sauce

  1. In a jar place 6 teaspoons of maple syrup, 6 teaspoons of tamari sauce and 6 teaspoons of balsamic glaze and combine well. Set aside.
