Crispy Homemade Air Fried Falafel Balls

Ingredients

  • 250g dry chickpeas
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 1/8 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1-3 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 tbsp chickpea flour
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Pinch of ground cardamom

Preparation

  1. Soak 250g dry chickpeas overnight before using.

  2. Add the soaked chickpeas to the food processor and process until they are finely chopped.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and process until fine but not mashed.

  4. Form the mixture into balls and freeze for 30 minutes.

  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F or 180°C (or use an oven if preferred).

  6. Fry the falafel balls for 20 minutes, shaking a few times during cooking.

  7. Serve in pita bread with tahini dressing, lettuce, onions, pickles, cabbage, and other vegetables you love.
