Fudge Dark Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (e.g., @santabarbarachocolate)
- 3/4 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar
- 3/4 cup apple sauce
- 1/3 cup raw cacao powder (e.g., @santabarbarachocolate)
- 1/3 cup buckwheat or brown rice flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Pinch of nutmeg
Preparation
In a small pot, melt the dark chocolate chips. Add almond butter and coconut sugar, and mix until smooth.
Mix in the apple sauce until well combined.
In another bowl, combine the raw cacao powder, buckwheat or brown rice flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and a pinch of nutmeg.
Fold the chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.
Pour the batter into an 8 x 8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper and lightly greased with coconut oil.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. For even better results, refrigerate before serving.
