Hand-Stretched Turkish Potato Börek
Ingredients
- 6 cups flour
- 2.5 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 tablespoons butter
Filling
- 6-7 potatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- desired spices
Preparation
First, pour the water into a large bowl.
Gradually add the flour and knead until a soft dough that does not stick to hands is formed.
Then add the salt and continue kneading.
When the dough comes together, transfer it to the counter, sprinkle with a little flour, and knead for about 15 minutes.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the rested dough into 20 equal pieces and shape them into balls.
Melt the butter and place it in a large bowl.
Coat each dough ball on both sides with butter, arrange them in the bowl, and gently press to flatten.
Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 1 hour.
After resting, take the dough balls and thin them out to the size of a serving plate.
Gently stretch the dough, add the filling, and shape it.
Finally, place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 200°C fan oven for 15-20 minutes.
