Homemade Almond Milk
Ingredients
- (you need 3 cups of water per 1 cup of almonds): - Makes about 6-7 cups of almond milk
- 3 cups raw almonds ??9 - 10 cups water
- Additional 6 cups water
- French Press
Preparation
In a large bowl, pour in your almonds and 10 cups of water
Let almonds soak overnight (with covered lid) or 12 hours (the longer you soak - the creamier the milk)
Drain and rinse almonds
Then place them in a blender and add the 6 cups of FILTERED water
Blend for 1 to 2 full minutes until almonds are well processed
Pour as much as you can into French press and press slowly to separate pulp from milk (you will make a few batches that you can combine)! You can dump out of some of the almond solids as it filters through
Be sure to hold onto the almond pulp to toss into salads or smoothies or even make raw treats (cacao balls?)
Cover and store in fridge – should last a few days
