Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 5 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4- 29oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 1- 6oz can of tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Preparation

  1. In a large stock pan heat the oil, garlic and onions over medium heat until they are golden. Add the parsley, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined. Add the tomato sauce and paste. Let it simmer over low heat for 40 minutes

  2. The old saying about the sauce tasting better the next day reheated is true. This is a big batch of sauce, so you’ll have plenty of left overs and some to freeze
