Lego Milk Powder Fudge (Penda)

Ingredients

  • 1 tin sweetened condensed milk - 397gms
  • 2 heaped tablespoons ghee/unsalted butter
  • 2 cups milk powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or saffron and ground cardamom for optional variations)
  • Pistachios & rose petals for decoration (optional)

Preparation

  1. Melt the ghee in the microwave and heat the milk. Add both to a large bowl along with saffron and cardamom.

  2. Stir in the milk powder and sweetened condensed milk. Mix thoroughly until a smooth paste forms.

  3. Microwave the mixture for 1 minute.

  4. Stir the mixture very well to ensure there are no lumps.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 twice more. The mixture should become a thick batter that starts to solidify as it cools. If needed, heat for an additional 30 seconds at a time and mix well.

  6. Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it's cool enough to handle, then press it into mini molds of your choice before it hardens.

  7. After a few minutes, gently remove the fudge from the molds. It should still be soft.

  8. Press chopped pistachios and rose petals onto the fudge for decoration (optional).

  9. Allow the fudge to fully cool and firm up.

  10. Enjoy! Store the fudge in the fridge for up to 1 week.
