Oil-Free Hummus with Chickpeas and Spices

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Curry powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Chili powder

Preparation

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and mix well.

  2. Use only the juice of one lemon or peel it and use the whole lemon without the skin.

  3. Add a little plant milk, water, or the chickpea can water to achieve a hummus-like texture.

  4. Customize by adding other spices, herbs, or whole foods as desired.

  5. For a milder garlic taste, use a small garlic clove or a little garlic powder.

Tips

  1. Dip the hummus with whole grain flatbread with parsley and some raw veggies.

  2. If buying store-bought hummus, prefer canola oil over sunflower oil for a better omega-3 to omega-6 ratio.
