Oil-Free Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 garlic clove
  • curry powder
  • cumin powder
  • chili powder

Preparation

  1. I recommend using a small garlic clove or only a little garlic powder if you don’t want a strong garlic taste

  2. Put all ingredients in a blender and mix well. ?You can either take only the juice of one lemon or peel it and use the whole without the skin. Add a little plant milk/ water or use the chickpea can water to get a hummus like texture. Of course you can add other spices, herbs or other whole foods to pimp your hummus

  3. I don’t know how it is where you live but in Germany I can’t find Hummus without oil. Do you have oil free hummus in your supermarkets? ?? If you buy hummus with oil please take the one with canola oil and not sunflower oil if available. Because the omega 3 to 6 ratio of sunflower oil is about 1 to 300 ? and of canola oil only about 1 to 4 ?? + studies show that canola oil does not seem to injure the endothelium system
